5 Fabulous Kitchen Styles – Which Is The One For You

Kitchen Definitions31st October 2014 3 minute read

Swooning over your dream kitchen is easy, but when it comes to making the final design decisions it’s much harder to choose a kitchen to suit both your home and lifestyle. Here at John Lewis of Hungerford we have five unique kitchen designs that are guaranteed to provide you with the look and style that’s right for you.

From the classic Artisan kitchen to the 1950s inspired Crème de la Crème, whether you’re a traditionalist or a minimalist, let us help you find your perfect kitchen!

1) Original Artisan

If you’re looking for a traditional country style kitchen that is the heart of your home, our original Artisan design is for you. It’s elegantly plain English style is perfectly suited to a range of homes from cottages to grand Georgian houses and authentic farmhouses too. The detailed cabinetry incorporates a raised field centre panel and beautiful drawer edge detailing

2) Shaker Style

Versatile, simple and contemporary? If that sums up your style then you’ll definitely be interested in our fabulous Shaker kitchens.

Classic, beautiful simplicity, the Shaker kitchen is one of our most popular styles. Shaker style kitchens are also the perfect canvas for pantry cupboards and tall appliance combinations, common in traditional kitchens. A wide range of finishes and a mix of colours allow our designers to create complete diversity throughout this kitchen design. Shaker kitchens can incorporate glazed wall cupboards and chunky wooden work surfaces to give a timeless feel.

3) Pure Range

Pure is our ultra-sleek handleless range which unites modern, minimalist kitchen style with a mid-century feel. This chic, simple kitchen design will create a fresh ambience in any home, with a painted or wooden kitchen trim.

Soft closing handless doors and drawers create a fresh and effortless look, with clever gullwing style doors in the wall units allow for easy access to the interiors. Pure kitchens can be finished in a single solid colour throughout and there is the option to have a visible wood trim, available in Walnut or Oak. The matt finish of these kitchen cabinets also adds to the sense of serenity.

4) Urban Style

The Urban is a fabulous, style with its clean and contemporary feel. A truly versatile design with beautifully smooth finished cabinetry and understated slim handles, the range is perfect for any modern interior and is available as in-frame or lay-on.

5) Crème de la Crème

Inspired by the famous “English Rose” kitchen of the 1950s, our Crème de la Crème kitchen is a design classic with a vintage feel. If you love retro, this fabulous kitchen is the ultimate choice. Especially designed for the practicalities of the modern lifestyle, which demand far more from our kitchens than the original English Rose can offer, our retro kitchens are made from durable material and allow for integrated appliances. This unique kitchen features the classic curved design with bold colours, glossy surfaces and chrome accents that you would find on the original 1950’s product. This is a real show-off kitchen and will transform your existing room into a vibrant space, bursting with energy.

Our tailor-made kitchens allow you to incorporate more than one style into your design. So, if you are torn between two you love, you can cherry-pick the best features of each and our talented designers will draw up a show-stopping design that will work in harmony with your lifestyle.
